HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS — JAZZ IS COMING

Our own John Jannazo, sometimes known as Jazz, will be our speaker on Thursday, 21 May. John has a very good PowerPoint presentation of the WWII honor flight that takes our WWII veterans to Washington to see, among other things, the WWII memorial. We have had four of these flights and John will highlight one of these. I think it will be a moving experience to see and when you talk to any of these veterans you will feel their emotion. As a plus for us, Jazz will wear his new bullet, innuendo and news allegation proof Teflon body armour that has been woven into his skin. He will answer any question of a general nature (no personal questions please). We know Jazz will tell it like it is, like it or not. This is your chance to get Jazz's opinion on things that affect us all. If you aren’t there, don’t complain later.

A BIT OF HISTORY CAME FORTH ON 29 APRIL

Thanks to all our Daedalians that showed up for a farewell beer call for the F–15 flyers left in the 33rd FW. We found out that Murphy’s is a really neat place. As an added bonus our Vice Flight Captain, Col Todd (Sledge) Hammer showed us the F–35 flight simulator. What an awesome treat. I was fortunate to get a ride in it and was totally blown away. No! I did not crash. For the ones that flew it that evening where else can you fly the most advanced simulator in the world surrounded by 6 to 8 of your friends telling you what to do. Back to Murphy’s to talk with the young bunch of Eagle drivers. A talented group of fighter pilots with excellent potential and a promising future ahead of them. Our thanks to Todd for his leadership in the transition of the 33rd FW. BTW, it will remain the 33rd Fighter Wing. Thirty years of F–15 Nomads and many true war stories. A special thanks to Flight Lieutenant (RAF) Kyle (OJ) Simpson who pulled all this together. Good job mate!! Some of the young pilots had the pleasure of meeting Bud Day and were impressed, as we all are. Thanks for coming by Bud.

NEW RULES FOR SIGN–IN AT DAEDALIAN DINNERS.

All Officers Club members receive the $2.00 discount off the quoted price. Cash (& check) members, who are Officer Club members and want the discount, must provide the POC (that’s the Seaqull Treasurer) their full name including middle initial & the last four digits of their club membership account number. Credit card members, who are paying with their charge cards, must provide the account number, expiration date and sign the Charge Pro Rata Sheet to authorize the charge. We will have two new forms at the sign–in table — a Charge Pro Rata Sheet and a Cash Pro Rata Sheet. We must give a “guaranteed” number of attendees to the club by noon 48 hours before the scheduled dinner. The number may be increased, but not decreased except for verified emergency situations. Bottom line — bring your credit card & be ready to sign a new form or two at check in. Progress, Air Force style. Skip will lead us through everything.

We have some good programs in the future. Come to the Dinner & I will tell you what they are.
